What type of service is Unison Care?
Unison Care provides private-pay, non-medical foot care support for seniors in Montreal. Services are structured, one-hour visits focused on dignity, consistency, and a personalized care experience.
Who is Unison Care best suited for?
Unison Care is best suited for seniors that do not require medical podiatrist level of foot care.
Caregivers & Qualifications
Are caregivers trained and experienced in personal care?
Yes. Care is provided by certified P.A.B.s (Préposé(e)s aux bénéficiaires) or experienced caregivers with a minimum of two years of hands-on experience in personal care settings.
How are caregivers supervised?
Caregivers receive structured training and work under ongoing oversight. A designated Care Manager conducts periodic check-ins and quality reviews to ensure care standards are consistently met.
Will the same caregiver come each visit?
Whenever possible, Unison Care schedules consistent caregiver(s) to support familiarity and comfort. If a change is required, care transitions are handled thoughtfully and communicated in advance.
Do caregivers undergo background checks?
Yes. Caregivers do not have a criminal record, and background screening is part of the hiring process.
Is service available in French?
Yes. Services are available in both English and French.
Services & Scheduling
What services are provided during a visit?
Visits focus on hands-on foot care delivered calmly and respectfully. This may include assisted showers, hair care, nail cutting, and appropriate social interaction within the scheduled time.
How long are visits?
All services are provided in one-hour scheduled visits only. This structure ensures care remains focused, predictable, and unrushed.
Do you offer extended visits or additional hours?
No. Unison Care does not offer extended or open-ended visits.
Can additional hours be added occasionally?
Unison Care is designed specifically around one-hour visits.
Do you work on holidays?
Yes. Holiday visits are available upon request, otherwise National and Provincial holidays will be considered a day off for foot care specialists.
Holiday rate: 2x the regular current rate per visit
Appointments & Transportation
Do you accompany clients to medical appointments?
Unison Care does not offer transportation services.

Billing & Payments
How does billing work?
Invoices are issued same day after service is complete, and includes a description of each visit (Initial or ongoing lower rate fee priced individually, or as a part of a pre-paid annual package. Invoices sent to the client via email or to a designated Power of Attorney or trustee.

Visa / e-transfer /Pay Pal
Do you provide tax receipts?
Your invoices can be used when filing income taxes to access Quebec’s Home Support Services Tax Credit and applicable federal senior tax credits, which could potentially reduce the overall cost of care.
