What the Initial Foot Care Visit Includes

The initial foot care visit is a comprehensive, unrushed appointment designed to ensure comfort, safety, and a positive first experience.

During this visit, time is taken to get to know the client and their environment. A relaxed and comfortable seating area is selected within the residence, apartment, or room so the client can sit comfortably throughout the service.

All supplies are provided by Unison Care. This includes a foot bath container, stool, additional lighting if needed, all toiletries, towels, tools, and medical gloves. Nothing needs to be prepared by the client, and no mess is left behind.

Step-by-Step Care Provided

  • Warm foot soak using calming, scented salt water

  • Gentle salt scrub to exfoliate and soften the skin

  • Careful cutting back and shaping of toenails

  • Cleaning of the nail surface, sides, and underneath the nail bed

  • Removal of surface calluses, where appropriate

  • Removal of dry skin on the toes, sides, and soles of the feet

  • Special attention and care around bunions

  • Final rinse of the feet

  • Thorough drying of the skin, including between the toes

  • Application of moisturizer to hydrate and protect the skin

The visit is completed with attention to cleanliness, comfort, and dignity. Many clients notice improved comfort when walking and greater ease wearing their shoes following the service.

Ongoing Care Recommendation

For best results, a monthly visit is recommended. Regular maintenance helps keep nails at a manageable length, supports foot health, and avoids the additional charges associated with longer gaps between visits.
